I teach amazing Kindergartners in a Targeted Assistance Title I School. They are curious, loving and active! My students come from a variety of backgrounds, cultures and socio-economic conditions. Their prior educational experiences also differ greatly including their access and exposure to English, because many are English as a Second Language students. Many of my students lack the resources at home to learn and engage in educational activities. At school, I strive to provide them with the best learning environment possible in order to help them succeed!
My Project
STEM centers will provide my kinders with the opportunity to create, build and explore using a variety of science manipulatives! This project will purchase STEM centers including a marble run, Magna tiles, straws/connectors, gear and bristle, bolt and wooden builders.
Creativity and exploration are key components of the kindergarten experience and these materials will help spark a love of building and creating!
These materials will enrich my students' learning environment. They will help my students think outside the box, improve problem-solving skills and promote collaboration with classmates. Most of my students would not have access to materials at home that would foster such planning, designing and building and I would love to help foster a love for creativity through the school setting!
