FATE is a quaint little school in a neighborhood that feels like a small town in a big city.
The classes are small and everyone is treated like family. The majority of students come from low-income households and have limited resources, yet we have an extremely active PTA. We take great pride in the level of parental involvement at FATE.
My kindergarten students need three science units: Animals, The Day and Night Sky, and Force and Motion. Animals: I need animal figurines to sort, assorted animal coverings, and books about animals. The Day and Night Sky: I need a planetarium to project stars and I need books about the sky. Force and Motion: I need projects that allow them to read directions, build machines, and explore concepts of force and motion. Tinker Crates give them an opportunity to do all of these things. I also need magnets, glider planes, and books about force and motion. I need math activities that give students an opportunity to work with two- and three-dimensional shapes and develop spatial intelligence. Your contribution will help me to provide an engaging learning environment that promotes cooperative learning, develops problem solving and brings math and science concepts to life. The students will gain a sense of ownership by having a learning environment that is kid friendly and colorful
My students will see how reading and experimentation are a part of math and science.
They will have a robust learning experience that is tangible, meaningful, and inspires curiosity.
