Our school is very different from most schools in Alabama. About 90% of our students participate in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP). To qualify for free lunch, children's family income must be under $15,171 in 2015 (below 130% of the poverty line), so our students come from very low socioeconomic backgrounds with very limited resources and life experiences.
My goal is to give my students the opportunity to experience life beyond their neighborhoods.
These students are amazing, capable, smart, and hungry for knowledge. With the right resources and guidance, these children can change the world.
These STEM resources will help create an environment that will encourage my students to explore their natural curiosity and stimulate their creativity. The animal building kit has numerous options and choices for students to build and create. The wobble stools will make perfect additions to the STEM Station by adding flexibility to their seating options. They have been shown to be extremely helpful with students that are hyperactive because of the mobility! My students come from very limited backgrounds and limited resources. These materials will be a way to give them opportunities many have not had. Thank you in advance for any help you can give!
