My students need the flexible seating options, the STEM kits, headphones, and magnetic letters in order to focus on their learning and expand their skills.
I teach a class of enthusiastic and lovable 2nd graders who are excited to come in each day and learn! Our school is known for our positive and inviting school climate, developing the whole child, and deepening their love of learning!
I am fortunate that my students come from diverse backgrounds and cultures to bring new experiences into the classroom.
In our room, we reflect on our differences and similarities and by doing so, we strengthen our class and school "family". In the same way that my students come from unique backgrounds, they also learn in a variety of ways. I strive to recognize these different learning styles and create an environment where all of my students are successful. I do this by differentiating the ways in which they access what they are learning. For example, with different types of materials and instructional practices.
My Project
All of the resources in this project will benefit the unique needs of all of my students! We need the stools and wobble cushions to provide more choice in their seating so they can focus on learning instead of whether they are comfortable. The headphones will lower disruptions of noise from both computer noise and students around the classroom.
This coming year, I will have students with a broad range of academic and social skill abilities and want to create an environment where students have choice in how they learn.
The magnetic letters will greatly help my students that struggle with basic reading skills. The two STEM kits will add to our "Makerspace" area so that my students can explore STEM focused instruction when I am working with small groups. Finally, the laminator will help me create resources for my students that will not be ruined by curious kiddos!
