This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach eager four- and five-year-old learners in a kindergarten classroom. We are a Title I STEM school in an urban school district. My students are all at varying levels and have varying abilities, but they are always excited to participate in hands-on learning. They love to use manipulatives to get the most out of their learning experience by making it hands-on.
The excitement on their faces when they have mastered a new concept leaves an everlasting impression.
I am eager to continue to help them learn new concepts with new materials and resources for our classroom.
My Project
The items in this project will benefit my students tremendously! Students do not have their own school supplies at home so while we are learning remotely it is very hard because they often tell us that they do not have a pencil or marker to complete the assignment we are doing. Having this project funded will allow for students to have access to these very important school supplies that they will use during both in person learning and remote learning.
In addition to pencils and markers, these super important school supplies, our classroom also needs a printer!
Printing anything at our school is very difficult. When students create STEM projects or need an activity for a literacy or math center, I am often unable to print these items due to the printer issues at our school. A new printer for our classroom will allow me to provide many more meaningful activities and experiences for them to help expand their learning in all content areas.
