Help me give my students the tools to develop basic science concepts and become STEM Savvy Scientists with items like a hands-on science specimens center and Bee-Bot robots.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are comprised of eight pre-kindergarten boys and nine girls, totaling seventeen students in all. Their ages range from 3 to 5 years old. They are inner-city urban youth who mostly come from single-parent low-income backgrounds.
Despite this environmental obstacle, they are smart, creative, loving and extremely motivated learners.
The children in my classroom are like family. They show kindness and empathy towards each other daily. They are very curious, opinionated, outspoken and are higher-level learners. It is a joy to work with them.
My Project
I oftentimes call my science center, the "MAGIC" center, because it inspires "awe" in the hearts of my young learners!
Please support me in enabling my students to develope basic scientific concepts.
The roll and race activity ramp will give my students an opportunity to explore motion, friction and cause and effect.
The hands-on-science specimen center will allow students to explore and examine fascinating science specimens, while the magnetic wands will enable young learners to explore attraction and repulsion with classroom objects.
The Bee-Bots programmable robot will help my young scientists understand cause and effect, directional language and early programming.
The life science picture puzzles will provide hands-on experience with life science.
