My kindergarten class is full of excited young learners! Research shows that early childhood students learn best by participating in hands-on activities. Our Sand and Water table will be an asset to our class, introducing many STEM concepts, as well as teaching cooperation and impulse control.
Our school and community is rural and located near a military post.
Some of our students come from low-income households. Some students live in homes where extended family serve as their guardians. Some students live in single-parent homes. Some students' families are involved in agriculture. Time in the classroom provides education and enrichment. Kindergarten is exciting, and our lessons and activities introduce the love of learning to every child!
The materials we are requesting will help my class ignite their interest in STEM right from the start. With the opportunity to manipulate sand, water, magna-tiles, and other objects within the sand and water environment, students will learn about textures, building, cause and effect, and much more! Sensory learning is amazing and so developmentally appropriate in kindergarten! The learning opportunities and fun are limitless with these materials.
These materials will spark the fire of learning and creativity in my students!
You'll also be teaching my students a lesson in generosity. We'll discuss the importance of giving to others and showing appreciation when we are the recipients of gifts.
