This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
In my science classes, every student is special and valued in their own and unique way. By teaching, I've taken joy in being a part of a special school community where students, families, and teachers work together to give all kids a strong social-emotional and academic foundation.
We all have the same goal in mind: we don't want to manufacture pupils who memorize and repeat back what they learn.
Instead, we want to help creative, insightful, passionate, curious learners find their way. My hope is to help every one of my students curate a love for science as I have and carry that love on with them after they graudate. STEM subjects are often over looked and my goal is to make them into believers!
My Project
My goal is to keep my students engaged and to connect their learning to real world scenarios. This sciece curriculum will help fill in the gaps that my students are missing and use real world examples to connect their learning. For example, there are lessons in the curriculum on chemical bonding that I cannot wait to introduce to my students.
This project will help my students grow to become critical thinkers because both resources really breaks down skills for students.
I have used previous resources with my students before and they love the scnearios and labs that accompany the lessons. I also like how the curriculum comes with quizzes and study guides.
