My students need some STEM supplies such as Solar Space Fleet and Air Power Racer to help get them motivated and to learn about building and how things work. They need Snap Circuits to help them learn about electricity and how it flows.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My class is the place where most of my special needs students get their experiences in life. We are a Title I school and come from a very low-income population. 90% of my students receive free or reduced lunches. They come to class with little outside knowledge and have experienced little outside our community. I try to bring that outside in by using videos, pictures, and online experiences. We have recently experienced the Lowell Mill Girls and saw how looms work. We have seen the conditions those factory workers worked in on a daily basis. I hope to continue to give them these experiences in our classroom.
My Project
My students need some STEM supplies to help them understand about creating and building for a purpose. These STEM activities like the Snap Circuits will help them to understand electricity, how it flows, and what electricity can do for us. Other activities can help motivate the students to create and learn to build solar-powered vehicles.
All these activities help my students learn about how our electronic devices work, and why things happen.
They could motivate them to make a career choice in a STEM field or to pursue a science or engineering track in high school or college. My special education students need these motivators to help them learn and to physically see how things work.
