STEM-Possible: Making Competing in STEM Competitions a Reality
Help me give my students the opportunity to excel in their STEM based competitions on a national level. They have already demonstrated success at state level winning 2nd place in multiple events and winning 3rd place in one.
Our students are excited about the opportunity to represent their school and state by excelling in various activities and they do not shy away from new adventures that allow them to grow to be better citizens and students. We have students of various educational levels, disabilities and socioeconomic backgrounds that have developed a great relationship and appreciation for each other’s differences. The climate of the school is welcoming, and students are eager to find ways to improve the environment. Overall, there is a high interest in technology and design for which we have many course offerings that support this need.
My Project
Students need support to defray cost for attending this National TSA competition trip. Registration, lodging and meals are expenses they would be responsible to pay in order to participate. This grant would help defray cost for the trip by reducing total expenses by eliminating registration fees for students. Thus, students will have more monies available to go towards food and lodging over the 4nights/5 days of the conference. Students are eager to compete at this event and demonstrate their expertise in several STEM based competitions including Electrical Apps and Microcontroller design as they place 3rd and 2nd place in both respectively at their recent state level competition.
Students are in the process of seeking & gaining even more knowledge & skill level necessary to excel even further in these events via community volunteers.
By supporting this project students will have within reach funding to defray cost enabling them to have the opportunity to compete.
