I have some pretty amazing students this year. Moving to Kindergarten I wasn't sure what to expect but they have really blown me away! Kindergarteners are a ton of fun! They love to help and are very caring towards others. They also enjoy creating but need more opportunities to do so freely.
They are very curious, eager to learn, and genuinely kind children.
My kiddos come from a range of different backgrounds and home lives and they each bring something unique to our classroom. They are all very interested in doing new things and creating and exploring.
My Project
My students love coming to school. Each morning we start our morning with explorative and fine motor morning tubs. Many of my students still struggle with fine motor skills. They also struggle with creating and generating ideas on their own. They love to do activities that involve building and are becoming better at concentrating and showing GRIT!
These activities will create independent and creative problem solvers!
This is just what our classrooms need- students who can create and problem solve on their own. These materials will help to encourage these qualities in my students. With these materials they will be able to discover, create, explore, and many other things that are such very important life skills!
They will be able to use the magnetic building materials to create buildings, animals, people, seasonal thematic objects, famous landmarks, forms of transportation and much more. The playground engineering and design set will allow them to use engineering and design skills to create and build different playgrounds they would like to be able to play at. The gears and interlox will also allow them to build and create anything they can imagine. All of these can then be used in literacy for writing about their creations, math for counting, colors, shapes, patterns, adding and subtracting, and science or social studies for learning about a variety of topics based on our curriculum. There really are endless ways to use these materials in the classroom!
