My students need additional iPads in our Math classroom, I chose the refurbished iPad Air because they are a lighter and faster iPad. I also chose the least expensive Otterbox case to protect these new iPads!
Our school is located in a humble, middle-class neighborhood in Texas. Although our school did not flood, many of our students were affected by the hurricane in August of 2017. I have three classes of third graders in our aging but thriving school who are in desperate need of digital resources. A number of these students do not have access to any technology at home. By providing them with these resources, we are helping them to become digitally literate members of their community. This could literally change their lives by providing them with vital skills for technology-based careers that do not even exist yet.
Our first FIVE iPads were funded and delivered to our school in January and with this additional technology in our classroom, I have seen huge improvements in my student's interest in Math class.
The iPads make their Math apps so much easier to access and they can use them as a digital white board for our lessons, create augmented reality Math problems and use QR codes to solve Math problems!
My Project
My eager STEM students are in need of additional technology to expand their 21st-Century skills. I am requesting three additional refurbished iPads with Otterbox cases to help us in our pursuit of personalized, purposeful, and authentic learning. We strive to create a community of life-long learners who will rise to meet the challenges of our ever-changing society. We will utilize the iPads in our Math class during such activities as small group time, whole group teaching and solving word problems. My third grade students will benefit from the use of these iPads for activities as simple as QR codes, making augmented reality word problems or being able to share with their parents what they are doing in class through their Class Dojo story.
