Ms. W. from Stone Mountain GA is requesting instructional technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need a TI-Nspire CX Navigator System to explore STEM related math and science activities.

When you walk into my special needs classroom, you will see student creativity, collaboration, and flexible learning.
John Dewey stated, "If we teach today’s students as we taught yesterday’s, we rob them of tomorrow." Today's students have surpassed traditional learning; they are technology savvy.
My students are young adults who strive to the best of their ability in all academic areas. With an array of disabilities, my students learn through various teaching methods to include visual, auditory, kinesthetic, reading, and writing activities. My students are motivated Special Education students taking learning 6th grade math and science. They are eager learners and desire the opportunity to prepare themselves for the future by advancing their technology skills and applications while in school.
With your support, this could be the year all my students have access to technology to use during the lesson.
My students must keep up with the latest advancements in technology while learning math and science. I have purchased the TI-Nspire CAS Teacher Software, but lack the TI- Nspire CX Navigator System to make sure my students have access to the latest innovative technology. I would like to give my students the same opportunities that STEM and gifted students have at my school. The TI-Nspire Navigator System expanded graphing technology performance comes preloaded with more than a dozen applications, including functionality that encourages exploration of interactive geometry, inequality graphing and real-world data collection and analysis. For example, we will be simulating Evidence of Chemical Reactions by discussing the explosion at a fertilizer plant in West, Texas; discuss heat transfer and discover how heat from a stove can be used to heat a house; use bathroom flooring to solve real-world and mathematical problems involving the four operations with rational numbers; and etc.… For some students, math and science are difficult subjects. If I can make it exciting and relevant to them, I will be more effective as a teacher. The TI-Nspire Navigator System allows for question capability, collaborative activity, document transfer, quick poll, screen capture, live presenter, portfolio and auto-grading
By funding this project, we create a learning environment where students can critically think, explore, analyze, and support their findings in Physical Science, by igniting curiosity in unexplored territories.
My students will have an opportunity to learn math with more creativity, enabling them to retain difficult concepts. For example, we will be simulating Evidence of Chemical Reactions by discussing the explosion at a fertilizer plant in West, Texas; discuss heat transfer and discover how heat from a stove can be used to to heat a house; use bathroom flooring to solve real-world and mathematical problems involving the four operations.
