I teach at a Title 1 school in Woodland, CA. All students receive free breakfast and lunch. This year I am blessed to have a small class of 17 Kindergartners. Seven of them are English Language Learners and come from Spanish speaking households.
Some of my students face challenges that we as adults would have a hard time dealing with.
Yet they come to school every day excited to be there and ready to learn. They have lots of personality and are a joy to teach!
I have many goals for the Kindergartners that are in my class. One of them is that they are able to work cooperatively with others and can problem solve. This is where I believe that STEM projects and your generous donations can come in to help.
STEM is not just the latest educational buzz word, it is our children's future.
Students need to be able to problem solve, work with others and be innovative.
The STEM stories I am requesting will expose my students to careers that they've never thought of and the manipulatives will allow them to design and build structures with different materials, such as legos, blocks and geometric pieces. They will use these manipulatives during center time and will have fun while learning.
