Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach in a high-poverty school, teaching 3rd graders. My students never cease to amaze me daily. They come to school each and every day ready to learn, homework completed, and a smile on their faces. They love to read, they find themselves lost in books. Our school has the best attendance within our school district. We are considered a Native Language school, with Spanish being the predominant language. It is a safe environment where students follow expectations and are accountable. Even though the neighborhood is not great, my students are!
My Project
Our classroom is in need of more supplies to help us through the rest of the school year. Clorox wipes will help us stay healthy, and our old binders have fallen apart! We like to stay organized, but its difficult when things start to fall apart. All of our writing materials have disappeared, or dried up, so we are in need of pencils, highlighters and markers!
We are looking to spice up our math learning centers with fun and engaging games.
Multiplication and division are an everyday adult skill, so let's make it more interesting.
