Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The students in our class come from a variety of backgrounds and family demographics. We are part of the Spanish two-way dual language program in Austin, Texas. Most of the students live in affordable housing and face financial difficulties in their day to day lives. We strive to offer a very loving and supportive environment. In our classroom, we focus on making every student feel welcomed and loved. My students work really hard every day and have a hunger to learn new things.
My Project
STEM education is so important for various reasons. STEM lessons can foster ingenuity and creativity. By exposing students to STEM, they will develop a passion for it and hopefully pursue a STEM-related field. STEM education encourages teamwork, tech use, and teaches problem-solving. STEM activities provide hands-on and minds-on lessons for the student. Each item picked will help my students expand their creativity and expose them to different challenges that will help them grow. Education can also help bridge the ethnic and gender gaps that we are often faced with. Help me give my students an opportunity to explore STEM-related concepts.
