My young students (ages 4-6) come into class each day eager to learn! After exchanging greetings, hugs, and stories, we start learning through hands-on experiences, stories, exploration and play.
I teach at a Title I school in Oklahoma, reaching a variety of student and family backgrounds.
I love getting to know each child and their families. My passion is showing these kids how smart and valued they are! Each year, I strive to better my teaching through professional development, so that I may grow as a teacher and keep changing the lives of my community!
My Project
My students are so creative and curious and love to learn! I like to provide different ways for them to express and show their creativity. I accomplish this through a daily play time, where my students can build their social skills, imagination, and communication skills.
One of my goals for this year is to incorporate more STEM time into our day.
I want to do this by having a variety of materials available for the students to build with. This LEGO kit will not only let students build anything they can imagine, but also incorporates a storytelling aspect. Retelling is an important skill for kindergarten students so it’s a win-win!
