In any given week I see all 475 students at our school as their classes come through the library. We have a very diverse group in backgrounds, interests, and abilities. What we all have in common is a desire to learn and a wish to have fun doing it.
The school library has changed; it is loud, it is active, it is exciting.
My students deserve materials that offer opportunities, invite creativity, and open doors.

My Project
Legos are no longer just for playing! Legos are great for developing fine motor skills in children, they encourage teamwork, develop problem solving and mathematical thinking, improve communication skills, develop perseverance, and perhaps most importantly, kids love them!
Kids want to have fun learning and Legos are fun!!
I believe this project will help bring a bit more fun to the learning going on in the library and can help kids in so many ways.
The project would provide the materials needed to build a Lego wall to install in the library. It would also supply the Legos to play with and some very cool Lego creation books to get kids going. I'm also very excited to include one book geared toward our teachers that offer ideas on how they might use Legos in their teaching.
