STEM Learning With Lego Spike Prime

My Students

We are a 7-12th grade online school. The majority of our students take all of their courses online. As a school we try to provide many opportunities for students to have in-person, hands-on activities to supplement their online instruction. During the pandemic we had to cancel all of our in-person activities.

Our students need the opportunity to participate in in-person STEM activities to help them develop skills such as collaboration, problem-solving, engineering design, and communication.

My Project

Students will be able to collaborate in small groups to design, build, and program a Lego robot. In addition to coding and programming, the students will use creativity and teamwork to come up with a design to complete the challenges.

This project will give students the opportunity to actively engage in STEM learning in-person with their peers.

The best way to get kids excited about STEM careers is to have them participate in activities. Designing and building robots prioritizes hands-on learning which is essential to develop future innovators and inventors.

The pandemic has limited the in-person activities that students can participate in. My hope is to provide students with a safe environment to work with peers and to help them develop confidence by working together to achieve specific goals.
