Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students LOVE Science! Unfortunately, we do not have hands-on kits for all Science topics that need to be covered in our grade. With the Science STEM bundle and journals, Science will come to life for my 5th graders. They will see first hand how STEM projects are related to the real-world.
My students love to learn!
They are hard working students, who don't always have the materials needed. I teach in a low socioeconomic area and the students will benefit from having the opportunity of working together on Science projects. I teach in an inclusion classroom and many students are on various levels. The STEM Bundles and Science games will allow my students to work together, while using real world applications. One of the important things that they need to learn is how to work together to solve problems cooperatively. The STEM Bundle and STEM journals will help them achieve this goal.
My Project
We are requesting The STEM Bundle, STEM journal set, and Science File Folder Games. The students will be able to work together while practicing various Science Concepts. They will be able to apply what they have learned and be able to work collaboratively in their workshop groups. These Science activities will strengthen their knowledge and allow them to enjoy Science, even more than they already do. The various Science games requested cover many of the topics required in the 5th grade Science standards. The students will have opportunities to practice these skills in a fun and exciting way at their own pace. It will also allow me to work with the students in groups on various topics at one time depending on their needs. The STEM Journals will also allow students to record their results and findings.
