Our school has an incredibly diverse population of students who come from mid and lower socioeconomic backgrounds.
I am the only science teacher at the school for 600 students in grades one through six.
First to fourth graders come to science once a week while fifth and sixth graders come to science twice a week. We learn mostly by hands-on activities to support their multiple learning styles. They are motivated and eager to learn if I incorporate hands on experiments.
My Project
The materials I am requesting teaches STEM lessons in a fun way. My students get excited to investigate and explore when they use a "hands-on" approach. The STEM stories go well with our science lessons.
I am requesting other classroom resources that are needed for effective teaching.
White boards, dry erase markers, homework turn in bins, assignment holding bins, teaching stamps, etc. These are some of the basic needs my students need.
A students curiosity and enthusiasm increases when they use manipulatives such as magnetic activity labs, magnetic water marbles, speedy snow and 3-D model-life cycle sequencing kit of animals. All these practical materials help my students to learn and also to retain the information .
