My students attend a high needs school that engages in several experiential learning projects throughout the year.
My students have inquisitive minds and a thirst for learning. They learn best by engaging in hands on activities and they LOVE science! Unfortunately my school has very limited resources and hands on learning requires a significant amount of tools and materials.
My Project
STEM kits are science exploration materials that will help students think about the world in a more scientific way. For example students may use one kit to understand how wind creates energy.
Students will use the stem kits and bundles to engage in hands on scientific exploration. I will follow kit lessons plans to foster a spirit of curiosity in the classroom. Students will engage in accountable talk discussions related to the scientific concepts presented in the STEM curriculum.
Having access to STEM kits will provide my students with an incredible inquiry based opportunity that will help them to become scientific thinkers.
They will learn to see the world as scientists and engineers do. Students will develop the language and mindset needed for getting engaged in science based career paths as they get older.
