As a teacher in a school with many of our students receiving free and reduced-price lunch, I see that my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Because of these challenges, I am looking to provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences that will spark their love of learning by discovering the fabulous world of science.
With your help, I will be able to provide fun learning experiments in science and engineering to 65 third graders!
Currently, I am supplementing my students with as much hands-on discovery as I can, but I am lacking the resources to do this with all of the standards I teach. It is rewarding to see the excitement and joy these students show when learning through hands-on experimentation, and I would like to offer them more.
My Project
My students LOVE being "scientists." If you have never seen third graders transform from 8 and 9 year olds into scientists, engineers, and computer programmers, then you are missing out. They love discovering things about the world through hands-on experimentation and activities. The materials I am requesting will help make that happen. With these items, my students will be able to explore and learn about a variety of scientific concepts. My students will learn about force and motion with the activities in the "Force and Motion" kit. In the "Magnets" kit, they will participate in engaging activities to help them understand the properties of magnets.
Please consider donating and being a part of shaping our future scientists, engineers, computer programmers and more.
This donation will change my students' lives for the better because these STEM activities and projects will serve as an educational foundation that will blossom into a love of learning and science, starting at an early age and continuing into adulthood.
