Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
4th Grade is a time where students are beginning to learn about themselves as individuals and to stand out from the crowd. Students want to be able to walk into their classroom and feel welcomed with open arms without judgment. That's where the classroom environment begins to make the most impact on their daily lives.
Classroom environment is what helps set students up for becoming successful in the day.
Our classroom environment reflects how we respect one another and the flexibility to be open minded about learning new concepts. Students should feel like this is more than just a classroom, but a safe place to express themselves as an individual.
My Project
Students will be able to expand their learning of both math and science that can be applied in real life careers. By being able to have access to LEGO kits to use in STEM activities to build awareness of how Math and Science at be applied in future career possibilities. The LEGO kits will be able to allow the students to see first hand how to create a functional device from beginning to the end.
STEM activities are a great way to enable students to grow, and learn while problem solving.
Students will work in small groups to make a working device. As students are building they will be able to see the importance of each part of machine. Just like a machine you need to have a framework in order to make all the pieces work properly this is also applies to the concept of working in a group. Each student has a role to play when creating this machine.
