This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
We are a, Pre-Kindergarten school. We are the largest in the area, serving approximately 500+ students. Our school accepts those who are identified as academically high-risk, and we provide school readiness activities for 4 and 5 year-old children in a full-day program.
Most of our students come from low-income households.
We have a large dual language and military population, with 100% of our students receiving free breakfast and lunch meals each day. We have 20 intelligent, curious, and eager-to-learn students in our classroom from diverse backgrounds who will benefit greatly from any support given through your kind support.
My Project
We love to be healthy and hands-on with our learning in Pre-K! I want to build my supply of super safe STEM materials and resources! MagnetBlox is a safe STEAM toy (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) perfect for educational application while enhancing creativity with active and imaginative play. MagnetBlox brings kids together to work as a whole, forming tunnels, towers, walls, and platforms. MagnetBlox is active play at it’s best with the benefits of constructing in the process. Who wouldn't want to play with a life-sized construction toy that allows kids to use their creativity while designing and building their own play.
The benefit of STEM in Pre-K is that STEM Builds Resilience--One of the most important things students should learn during the course of their education is that failing is a part of life-it also builds Creativity and Ingenuity--I want to encourage my students to use teamwork while being healthy and safe at the same time!
