Help me give my students an Electronic Snap Circuits kit to explore circuits in 300 different ways, a NewPath Mastery Game so they have a fun way to review science topics, and supplemental science books for additional learning.
The students I teach are middle school science students at an alternative 6-12 school in a high poverty area. Many of my students are at-risk and need some additional supports throughout the year.
The students I teach enroll in our alternative school for a variety of reasons, but in our school everyone's goal is clear: success.
My students respond best to visual and hands-on learning activities and their engagement and participation truly thrive when it comes to these types of learning modalities.
My Project
Help my students take science to the next level with supplemental and challenging science books and products!
Students have access to curriculum materials, but meeting students at their levels while still challenging them is key to student success.
The materials and supplemental tools I am asking for in this project will do just that.
The Science Curriculum Mastery Game will be used as a fun small group teaching/review aid for students to improve science knowledge.
The Elenco Electronic Snap Circuits kit will allow students to further challenge themselves beyond the curriculum to learn more about circuits independently and in small groups and take further ownership of their learning, while promoting STEM-based career exploration in the fields of physics/electronics.
The stethoscope will be used to help inspire students' interest in science-based careers as students will be able to work with real science career-based equipment.
The supplemental books on cells and ecosystem will be used as additional homework and instructional aids to further student knowledge and practice with curriculum topics.
Can you help my students and I to "STEM our learning up a notch?"
