On a daily basis, I have 25-30 students who walk through my door that I am responsible to educate. Many of the students in our area come from poverty, as the rural location of the school doesn't offer many employment opportunities for parents. Many of them live with extended family as the cost of living in our area is high.
As we are located in a rural area it is costly to take students on field trips to experience learning outside of the classroom.
We may have a high socio-economic need and funding is minimal for a school enrollment of our size. With populations of special education students and English learners, we make sure everyone has the same opportunities as a Pa'auilo Tiger!
My Project
The science kits will help my students have the hands-on learning that they need in order to become little scientists. At our school, our students struggle with understanding science topics.
If you help fund this project, you will be helping students from a small, rural school get the exposure that they to topics that are completely foreign to them.
A microscope will help students understand microorganisms much better since they will be able to see them.
Physical Science kits will encourage students to be complex thinkers and problem solvers which is a huge part of the next generation science standards.
