Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have a wonderful, eager group of students who are interested in learning about anything! They love to learn about letters, numbers, shapes, the community, and anything science! They love completing experiments and making hypotheses about the world! My students range from the ages of 8-10 years old and have a variety of different needs. I have some students who have IEPs, receive speech services, and many are English as a second language learners.
All of my students come from low income households that struggle to make ends meet and are learning how to speak English.
Most of my students live in public, low income apartments and do not have access to technology or common items most of us take advantage of. As my own personal goal, I strive to give my students the best education I possibly can!
My Project
My 3rd graders have a HUGE love of science! They have loved exploring new topics and taking a closer look at concepts we have already dicussed! Within our classroom we have also started incorporating some STEM activities. However, my students are craving more!
I love how STEM incorporates so many different concepts into one project including, problem solving, math, science, and reading!
With the resources I am looking for, my students will be able to look at real world problems and problem solve to come up with new ideas to solve them! My students love working hands on and these STEM kits would be perfect for them to use and for myself I love how they are cross cirrculum!
