Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach the most amazing group of 9 - 10 year old scholars. They come from very diverse backgrounds. The diversity in our classroom makes for an authentic place to learn! A majority of the students in my classroom live with their families at a local Air Force base. The students in my classroom may go months without seeing their parents due to them serving our country.
When my students enter the classroom, they are in their second home.
They know that our classroom is a safe place where they can learn and take risks. They are know that they have comfortable place where learning can happen.
My Project
Learning the sciences is often pushed aside during the school day. However, I believe that science is just as important as reading, writing, and math. I would like to give my students unique opportunities to experience SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, AND MATH, in a hands on way.
These materials will help my students to explore STEM activities and prepare them for the future!
Students will be given the materials to solve problems and think outside of the box. They will have weekly problems to solve using these materials. This will allow students to have a higher level of thinking and more authentic learning.
