My students need an Elmo MO-1 document camera to provide them with a better visual learning experience and help take their STEM projects to the next level!
George Washington Carver once said, "Education is the key to unlock the golden door of freedom." Opening that door of freedom for our students is the main priority at our school. Our school is home to all of the city's 5th/6th graders and is located in a very diverse, low-income community. The needs and abilities of our students vary greatly. Most of the students that attend the school receive free or reduced-price lunch, as well as any additional support necessary throughout the day.
My students are enthusiastic 6th graders with growing minds.
Our school provides a safe environment for the students to learn and grow. We strive to keep our students engaged in learning and help them be as successful as possible despite the struggles they may face outside of school.
My Project
Science, technology, and math are all around us, and my students are always trying to keep up with it! I have recently introduced the concept of STEM in my classroom, and my students are loving every second of these new learning experiences. Whether they are constructing a catapult that launches an object the farthest, or a replica of the Mayflower that holds the greatest amount of weight in pennies, my students are applying their knowledge of science, technoloy, engineering, and math to help them build functioning structures. Watching my students take simple materials and create a structure that fits a purpose is absolutely amazing!
My students need an Elmo-MO1 document camera to help enhance our STEM activities and help us during the planning, building, and reflecting proccess of these types projects.
Having an Elmo-MO1 document camera will allow me to provide the students with a more visual approach in our STEM activities. While going through the process of a STEM project, I currently have to stand in the front of the class holding an example, hoping the kids in the back can see. Planning and building are such important steps in a STEM project, having the ability to allow all of my students to experience these steps to the fullest would give them a greater understanding. The document camera would help us build together, test the structure together, and even reflect on certain aspects of the structure and change them if needed together.
