My Project

My science fair students, who represent a diverse group of underrepresented high school and middle school students in STEM, need some more advanced engineering and coding materials to create and innovate prototypes for science and engineering classes and science/engineering competitions.

Our STEM research classes have some basic programming materials but access to quadruped robotics, like the Petoi Brittle, are not readily available or accessible to them. As our science and engineering research program grows and is presently including middle school students, it is becoming more difficult to meet research and competition deadlines. with limited materials.

The students need quadruped robotics to design prototypes for science and engineering competitions using advanced computer science coding and artificial intelligence learning for enhanced innovation and creativity in their designs.

These robots are open source, high-performance, remote/app controlled, and highly programmable and will be extended with open source hardware such as Raspberry Pi and Arduino modules to make robots sense and interact with surrounding environments. In addition, the Petoi Quadruped Robots will be used by many students in our science and engineering research program to create novel solutions to enhance human companion needs.
