In our classroom, Ms. Powell's Owls is a welcoming, inviting place for First Graders to be themselves. Students are motivated and excited to learn new things. They are full of curiosity and want the freedom to explore reading, math, and all other subjects in a way that is most appropriate for them. Ms. Powell's Owls strives to be a classroom that is caring, positive, and innovative. My students desire to become the best versions of themselves and be lifelong learners beyond their First Grade classroom.
My Project
STEM-ing Our Way Through First Grade is project created to supply first graders with a variety of materials and opportunities to explore and create. My students are forward thinkers and are always looking for an activity or chance to create, build, and explore using various materials. This project requests items for our Rise and Shine time which is where students choose what activity they would like to do when they arrive to school each morning. Students are encouraged to try new things and learn from their mistakes. My students will also learn how to communicate and collaborate others in order to learn and be successful.
