Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I walk among young scholars that are curious and eager to learn. Many of my students are from low socioeconomic families yet come to school everyday with a desire to someday have a better life. They face many challenges in and out of the classroom. They work hard, ask questions, and strive to please.
They are determined to make school a safe, fun, and engaging environment.
I am determined to do the same. We are a team in everything we do!
My Project
Having these K’NEX Model Building and Simple Machine engineering STEM kits available will give the students more opportunities for collaborative work with hands-on learning. I know use of these kits will be a favorite activity. When my students are completely engaged in learning activities they are at their best.
I can already see the joy of learning shining through as they work together in small groups to communicate and problem solve as they build a working model.
Powerful classroom discussions occur after these types of activities as the students learn to make connections to the world around them. They can begin to see why math and science is so important in their education. Engaged students strive to learn more!
