I teach 2nd grade math and science at a China Spring elementary. My students are creative, open-minded inquirers. They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions. They come to school each day ready to take risks in order to grow both personally and academically. Our campus is considered a Title I school which means the majority of my students come from poverty which has a negative impact on their resources at home to positively impact their learning. Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning, although the method and environment in which they learn best vary greatly. We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, blended learning, collaboration, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are! They are truly an incredible group, and I am so lucky and thankful to have a new group of learners that are excited and ready to learn each year!
My Project
Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning, although the method and environment in which they learn best vary greatly. We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, blended learning, collaboration, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are! These items will help engage them and work on social and thinking skills. I love technology but there is just something about working with hands on manipulatives that gets the brain digging deeper all while having fun with peers! Students will learn life long skills while collaborating, sharing, and working as a team to create fun and different masterpieces!
