Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school saying is, "Better today than yesterday! Better tomorrow than today!" I want to make their tomorrow better!
My class consists of a diverse group of learners.
My class has 26-second grade students of varying abilities. The socio-economic background of our students is 97% free/reduced lunch.
I teach in an urban inner city school rich with diversity.
Most of my students need additional learning material to meet grade level expectations. Please help me to make tomorrow better for them!
My Project
My students are energetic and inquisitive learners! They would love to use Stem Learning Labs, Physical Science Activity Labs, and STEM science stations in our classroom to deepen their understanding of Science topics, Math connections and technology in the world around them.
Having STEM materials available to my inner city students allows them to learn with hands on materials to compete with other students in more affluent communities who may have access to these materials at home as well as at school.
Using STEM Science Stations, Physical Science Activity Labs and STEM Learning labs will add excitement and hands on learning stations in my second grade classrooms! My students would be able to test out theories and makes hypothesis and draw conclusions from working out different scenarios with these science kits. They will be recording their science discoveries in the STEM journals daily to deepen their understanding.
