I teach 25 second grade students in a public, urban, PreK-8th grade school. Most of my students are from low income households and many are from nontraditional families. Sometimes, not having adequate supplies holds them back from reaching their full potential.
My students deserve the opportunity to be successful.
They are very hardworking and thoughtful. My students love working with hands-on activities, technology, and in centers. They love working together by teaching and helping each other when someone is struggling.
My Project
Students will learn basic coding and robotics skills in a fun, interactive way. Once students have mastered basic coding skills they will be challenged with using their skills for more complex science concepts. Students will be able to learn and use a design process to plan, create, and improve their plan to complete challenges.
Students will become critical thinkers by experiencing problem based challenges that have many solutions.
Lastly, students will be able to work in partners or teams to learn from each other and focus on growth in their learning from trial and error. This will also help them communicate their thinking and learning.
