Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This is my fifth year as a teacher and every year, I continue to learn. Through the supportive staff and the amazing opportunities to grow as a teacher, I can't see what there isn't to love.
My students are what drive me every single day to not only be a better person, but to be a better teacher.
Working at a Title I school, my students come from many different backgrounds, but coming from a different background has not stopped them from wanting to come to school and bettering themselves as students. Their enthusiasm and love for learning is the light on the darkest of days. Although they all learn a different way, they always want to help each other within the classroom and outside of the classroom. As a teacher, I couldn't want anything more.
My Project
This year I am teaching a 4/5 Grade Split. In the 5th Grade they learn about circuits. I have requested a set of Little Bits Magnetic Circuits and Snap Circuits to help them learn about how circuits works.
STEM in a SNAP will will allow them to practice how circuits work and are used in our everyday lives.
Because I am also teaching a split class, I have also requested an iPad so that I can record Flipped Classroom lessons for students. This will help tremendously as I am teaching one group of students, they can watch my lessons online because I was able to record the lessons.
Both materials will extremely helpful in making my 4/5 Split Class to have a smooth year!
