My Students
My students are hands-on students. They thrive on projects, experiments and learning through doing. They are explorers in and out of the classroom, taking on each challenge they face with ingenuity, imagination, and determination.
In front of me every day, sit future scientists, engineers, doctors, teachers and some are going to take on vocations that do not even exist yet.
My students are lifelong learners. They are growing and learning in the same small, tight knit, school community that inspired me to be a teacher. They are part of a school that offers them small class sizes and an individualized education. They are an inspiration to me and those around them and I want to give them the opportunity to discover what they can truly do with their education and future! I am excited to see where they go!
My Project
Students will be using the 3D Printer and software to explore, design and create various Scientific concepts through hands-on activities.
From creating windmills to explore alternative energies, creating artifacts during Social Studies Class, to designing simple pieces of technology to solve real-world problems, students would get the opportunity to discover and create in the classroom like never before.
My students would follow the simple process of explore, design, create, and test. Having an understanding of how the process works will not only build their problem solving and group work skills, but will also teach them to think critically. Being able to do the latter, is something that is sometimes lost in all the daily academic rigor. Students would learn the very process engineers and scientists go through every day to create a safer, healthier, and more technologically advanced world. They will be able to apply what they have learned and created to something in their own lives! The final goal is for them to become empowered to make the world a better place.
