My Students
I am a STEAM teacher and teach a very diverse class of engineers. My students are resilient students that have been working to find solutions to many sustainable development goals. They come to school to learn and apply their knowledge in their daily lives to help make this world a successful and productive place to live in. These engineers are determined to make a change, to model what change looks like and inspire our school, community, and others to do the same.
My Project
My engineers are a diverse group that will be exposed to a variety of stem lessons this year.
This trip will solidify the goal of their NASCAR unit, which is to understand the need for females in all stem fields, especially those that are primarily male-dominated.
They will collaborate and problem solve while on the trip and be able to work for hands-on with the lead female technician at the community college. The importance of understanding how our world is changing and how to use technology to help problem solve is a key component that will be developed on this trip. These young ladies will not only be able to empower themselves with lifelong skills but be able to develop greater confidence within themselves to handle challenges in their everyday life.
