My Students

I teach in a public, second grade, general education classroom. I have twenty-three total students in my classroom. My school is very family oriented with many parent volunteers wanting to help their children succeed.

My students are curious, creative, and fearless when it comes to wanting to learn new things.

Covid-19 has impacted the students in many ways. The students are dealing with different stressors and need a safe environment to be a kid.

My Project

Students are needing more ways to express their feelings and to be able to succeed while in the classroom. I am needing more flexible seating and rubber bands to allow students who need movement to be able to move while still sitting in their seats.

The sensory stones will allow four specific students to not have to take as many breaks outside of the classroom, due to stress and other related factors that require them to take a small break.

Having these students in the classroom will benefit learning.

The STEM activities will be for parties, rewards, and when there is free time for the students to use an activity. These STEM resources will also be used for Fast Finishers during projects. Allowing students to use STEM activities is a great way for them to be pushed academically while still having fun.
