My Students

Students in my classes are well diversified (boys, girls, different ethnicities, varying skill levels, which includes special needs students). Many of the students come from low income homes and therefore, do not have the opportunity to learn to work well with others in a collaborative manner using technology.

In my Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math Lab, students work together on projects to find solutions to real world problems.

They learn from each other and from their failures. They learn failing leads to learning.

My Project

My special needs students excel in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) areas using Osmo with an iPad. My students learn a lot from each other while working in pairs. Currently, due to limited resources, they have to work 3-4 students on a single iPad. The addition of these Osmo kits will allow the students to work in pairs.

Special needs students learn remarkably well when given the opportunity to work with the Osmo Genius and Coding kits.

The Osmo kits cover math, spelling, coding, and 3-dimensional shapes. With the addition of more Osmo kits, more of the special needs students will have a hands-on opportunity to learn.
