My Project

I teach in a fifth and sixth grade special education self-contained class. With the diverse needs in my classroom these activities would give my students the opportunity to engage in age-appropriate stem activities on a weekly basis.

These activities would give students an opportunity to discover how their unique brains think differently and are fully capable to solve difficult problems.

Many students in my classroom have felt defeated by the education system due to their consistent struggles with reading, writing, and/or math. These activities help take away the traditional academic demands of school. Students would have the opportunity to play while they learn, create, edit, and persist through difficult challenges.
