My Students

I teach science and science intervention, incorporating hands-on, project-based learning in my classroom. I also incorporate technology, helping students develop 21st-century presentation skills and financial literacy. My classes incorporate STEM and STEAM skills for engineering.

My students are a diverse group of enthusiastic learners who enjoy applying creativity and hands-on models to their learning.

They have a wide range of creativity and come from diverse background experiences.

I incorporate technology into all subjects of my classroom and my goal is to promote as much creative, innovative learning as possible. Many struggle with the rigorous challenges of complex learning concepts. I need additional materials to create an even greater impact on classroom learning and interventions. I want to encourage student engagement and achievement.

My students are learning technology, but I want them to learn about the engineering as well. They are studying life science, but I will have them further research sustainable forms of energy, recycling, and human impact.

My Project

What would you have to do in order to survive one week in a foreign country? For this project, students will use the giant microbes and speakers to conduct research and investigate how to survive in a particular country. I am giving them a budget to survive and they will maximize their resources, using technology. They will need to research lodging, food, and recreational activities. They will even need to convert currency. What better way to promote financial literacy? Many students wish to travel the world, but do not know how to actually survive on a budget. This project requires meaningful research, planning, and organization.

The real-world problem solving technology resources will connect to their research, while reinforcing financial literacy skills.

Finally, they will present their findings and share their presentations online with the world. My students need plush giant microbes, light accessories, and string slime kits to learn about absorption, traveling, life science and biology. The visual and echo supplies and speakers will help enhance classroom instruction and learning environment. Students will develop vocabulary and use the echo to visualize scientific vocabulary and research. The research tools will enhance further vocabulary instruction and classroom activities. We will use these resources as samples and examples to learn important concepts and to gain further understanding.

These resources will enhance their understanding, research, and make learning more engaging and fun. The giant microbe and experimental supplies will create visual examples of important learning concepts and the research technology resources will provide additional information beyond instruction. Additionally, students will apply their understanding to create their own visuals, applying STEAM skills to their classroom environment.
