My students need robotics kits in order to enhance the needs of my gifted and talented students, increase inquiry in my advanced students, and provide exposure and interest in STEM careers to all.

My Students

Special does not begin to define my students. I have intelligent and hardworking individuals who set high expectations. My classroom consists of students from different backgrounds including students who speak limited English, have learning disabilities, are economically disadvantaged, and have attention disorders. Even though my students come from a variety of backgrounds, in the classroom, we are a family. We support and love each other no matter what.

Our neighborhood is constantly growing and changing.

There are established homes and apartments with a high turnover. Our school provides a safe and warm place for our students, and our community embraces each child.

My Project

Robotics will give my students the opportunity to see education through a different lens. The robotics kits will allow each student to learn essential teamwork and leadership skills. Students will explore many different learning pathways and have the tools to spark a passion in STEM. Students will experience sensory learning, hands-on innovations, a higher level of rigor, better socialization skills, responsibility, and increased movement. Students will see real application of their math and science skills. Robotics introduces students to knowledge, concepts, and skills that are needed for understanding the intelligent information-based technology of the future. I know that by incorporating STEM through robotics we will have a major impact on my students.
