My Students
I am a first grade teacher who has the honor of teaching incredibly compassionate, energetic, and resilient first graders! My class is predominately African American and Pacific Islander. Our school is a Title I school, and many students have experienced some sort of trauma. I strive to create a safe and loving classroom environment where students can engage with the world and grow as learners.
My students are loving, incredibly curious about the world, silly, and joyful learners.
They love to dance or sing, create art, and most importantly learn! Despite what is going in their lives, my students always try their best.
My Project
These STEM kits will allow students an opportunity to explore engineering and science in an engaging way. My students are incredibly curious about the world and the way everything works. During our nonfiction reading unit, my class loved learning about science. They also are much more engaged in learning when they can experiment with physical objects instead of just learning from a book.
With the STEM and engineering kits, my students will be able to design, test, and explore science and engineering in a hands-on way.
These kits will encourage their curiosity about the world and challenge them to use new scientific skills. In our classroom, we will use these kits for STEM centers.
