Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students reside in a rural community where 100% receive free lunch. They face many challenges in their environments, but still manage to come to school eager to learn. My students keep me laughing and smiling because they are not afraid to make mistakes while learning. Our classroom is a friendly loving environment where students are free to be themselves. We focus on literacy, STEM, and humanity in science. My students are very generous and caring. They love to share, collaborate, and exlpore.

My Project

We would like to have competitions for the students to build and create models. The animate mechanical 3D puzzle and the Ferris Wheel will allow students to be challenged to put models together. Some of my students do not do well with reading, but are gifted when they are asked to make models. I can't explain it. All I know is that all children have to be given opportunities to be successful. I must find ways to reach all types of learners.

The electronic exploration kit and the rockets will allow students to be creative in building and flying their inventions.

I have a number of students that like to do things with their hands.
