STEM Exploration and Collaboration is what our classroom is all about! Learning Centers filled with hands-on activities will be our way to making scientific discoveries!
My students are bright, kind, and curious.
They are hard working, willing to try new things, and love learning through hands-on activities. My class needs activities and extra materials to add to the science curriculum already in place. My school is a high-poverty school filled with students of many different homes, families and backgrounds. These materials would give them opportunities to explore science. They are eager to learn and these materials would give them what they need to reinforce science skills learned in class.
My Project
I envision using these materials in science centers. The Hands on Science Activity Library and Science File Folder games would be a collaborative group center.
The Science Versatiles and Daily Science Activities would act as a quick check-in or reinforcement activity or lesson for the daily science skills learned in class. I see students working on these to build individual skills or working with other students. Science Spin would be a supplemental non-fiction reading and would help learn current events, about science, and would build non-fiction reading skills.
Donating to this project would help add more opportunities for exploration and collaboration in my science classroom.
I am in my second year of teaching and have limited supplies for science centers. My students work really well in small groups and through hands on activities. Having materials such as these in my classroom would really help the skills 'stick' in their brains and would give them opportunities for choosing what they want to explore and learn during centers.
