This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My second grade students are eager to learn. They have developed and are implementing their own classroom expectations, engaging in community building, and learning to increase their stamina in learning and growing.

My students come from many different backgrounds.

Learning is what brings us together. Our school has a large English Language Learner population. We are also a Title I school. Our students come limited supplies and rely on donations to help them throughout the school year. These children are willing to learn with whatever is given to them.

My Project

STEM EXPLORATIONS GEARS BUILDING SET will help with students explore engineering in STEM. It will encourage them to understand how machines and objects work when put together. Students will work on these at home during the COVID-19 (Novel Coronavirus) outbreak as school is out. This will give parents, students, and myself a way to collaborate on how to encourage the students to better understand what STEM stands for. Students will get the opportunity to build structures on their own with simplified directions and then send a video or pictures of the steps they took to build their structures. This will help with motivation, collaboration, and learning a STEM project.
