Our Gators are an incredible group of over 600 scholars, in grades 1-5 with the most INCREDIBLE personalities, diversity, and strengths! As the STEM lab specialist, I see all grade 1-5 students in our very large urban school setting. We serve students from different cultures and various income level families that we strive to celebrate within our school family.
This past year, my students and I have worked very hard at creating relationships, and digging deep into Science and STEM.
For the past several years, my students have had a lot of inconsistency in Science, with almost all of their previous teachers either choosing to leave or not be able to continue, most mid-year. Because of this, my students have been lacking in knowledge and resources.
My Project
These Chromebooks will allow my students to research, find inspiration, create, and really dig deep into resources that we do not have here at school, and that many do not have at home.
Students will be able to access various virtual field trips to science museums, videos for inspiration to create Rube Goldberg projects, create graphical representations of data they collect, and so, so, much more!
Students will also be able to more effectively transition from elementary to middle school by being well-versed in technology and computer basic functions, including typing, searching for information, google classroom, google drive, and more.
