My students are the best. I know many teachers tend to say that but I really do mean that. My kids come from all walks of life. I have kids that come from two parent homes, divorced homes, foster families, well-off homes, and poor homes. They are unique in abilities, personalities, and interests. No two students are alike. That is what I love about teaching at the school I do. We are diverse and yet somehow work together in perfect harmony.
My students are my heroes!
They get up every day and come to school ready, eager, and willing to learn. Although many of them are fighting their own battles, from having no support at home, being tossed around from home to home, to having to take care of their siblings. They put all their struggles aside and give me their best. I am humbled daily to know that these kids have so much working against them and yet here they are ready to impress me.
This year I have many students that thrive off of STEM learning. They learn best through movement, team work, and trail and error. This year's class loves to take ownership over their learning.
My Project
To help enhance my Science Unit focusing on Electrical Engineering the students will use the SNAP Kits to explore various types of circuits. This is a hands on approach that allow the students to explore circuits through model building, team work, and trail and error. All of which are important skills to have both in education and in future careers.
Often times science is one of the most underrated subjects in school.
It gets pushed aside for subjects such as math and reading. Through the use of SNAP kits I want to show the students how fun bringing science to life can be.
This class thrives off of interactive learning. They love to build things and are constantly "playing" with items at their seat. My goal is to foster their creativity into something constructive. They will take their creative minds and create working circuits using SNAP kits. I know that through the use of the SNAP kits this class is going to have a blast, learn to work together, and learn about science topics such as resistors, conductors, insulators, and circuits.
